2019-2022 Ram 1500 & Heavy Duty Parasitic Battery Drain

The RAM trucks that are capable of this upgrade will be using the connector to the back of the Cigar Lighter to provide the 12V power and ground to the Park Sense upgrade.
Depending on what circuit the cigar lighter is on can result in the upgrade working as intended, or it can result in a parasitic battery drain.
This can easily be corrected by moving a specific fuse on the internal distribution center fuse box, which is located behind the driver's side knee bolster, below the steering wheel in the RAM 1500, and for the Heavy Duty it will be in the fuse box by the battery on the Driver's Side .

This is how to access the interior power distribution center.

Here is a photo of the internal power distribution center, the fuses will be facing towards the seat horizontally, this fuse box is not vertical.

The fuse being moved is Fuse F54 which has two orientations, A and B.
F54A which is the left most position, is shown plugged in below in that position. F54A is the position that has the Cigar Lighter fed by the battery directly.


Moving the fuse one position to the right is F54B and this is how the cigar lighter is fed power when only the ignition is on. If  you were experiencing parasitic battery draw, putting the fuse in this position eliminates that, because the park sense will then only use power when the vehicle is on.


RAM Heavy Duty (2500,3500, etc)
This is the fuse location for the HEAVY Duty RAM Trucks. This is the fuse box in the engine bay by the battery on the driver's side.
It's Fuse position F90/91.
Position F90 is when the fuse is in the up position (Ignition Power)
Position F91 is when the fuse is in the down position (Fused Battery Constant Power)
