My Radio is Very Hot to the Touch
My Radio is Very Hot to the Touch
- Modern day radios are cooled passively via the vehicle's AC. Most rear of modern radios have metal fins to help disperse the heat generated by normal use. Modern radios do not have an on-board fan to disperse heat.
- The screen will sometimes be very warm to the touch or the back of the radio will be very hot after removing the radio.
- This is normal and will not affect the operation or life of the radio.
- This is also found most commonly in a radio that has recently been installed, as you may notice the unit reboot, or multiple key cycles during the initial install may cause the unit to run hotter than normal.
- The type of material this Infotainment system is made of is automotive-grade materials that are designed to function in abnormal weather patterns/conditions.
