This is caused by a faulty ACM, and the ACM will need to be replaced. It doesn't matter if the HMI is a 2.0 or 2.5, it would still work. 

This is illustrated when the vehicle is put in reverse and shows a picture, meaning HMI & screen are ok. The ACM has to be linked up with the HMI for the screen to get full functionality, because the ACM has a LIN10 wire going to the screen for lighting up the screen and controls. The HMI has a LIN6 that goes to the screen for the Digitizer to work. This meaning, for the screen to work it needs the ACM and an HMI. 

TLDR: The Linbus communication from the ACM is required with the HMI to wake the screen up for full functionality. Just replace the ACM.
