2019–2024 Ram Heavy Duty Factory CHMSL Third Brake LED Light Cargo Camera Kit

⚠️ Important System Note: Uconnect 4 vs. Uconnect 5 Compatibility

Your Ram HD truck may be equipped with either Uconnect 4 or Uconnect 5, depending on the model year and trim level. Identifying your system is critical, as the installation steps and required harnesses differ.

🔹 Uconnect 4 (2019–2021):

• Uses C-INTC4T T-harness.

• Requires full RCA routing from third brake light to radio.

• Must complete Steps 6–16 (cargo camera harness routing).

🔹 Uconnect 5 (2022+):

• Uses C-INTC6T passthrough harness.

• Simplified integration: no need to route RCA through the cab.

• ✅ You may skip Steps 6–16 entirely if installing on a 2022+ Ram with Uconnect 5.

🛠️ Installation Steps

Radio & Harness Prep

Step 1–5:

• Remove the radio bezel and disconnect all connectors.

• Use pick tools or a flathead to unlock tabs.

• Release the 52-pin connector by lifting the lock lever.

Step 6: (Skip if Uconnect 5, 2022+)

• Connect the C-INTC4T harness to the factory harness.

• Connect 12V EZDC harness to cigarette lighter socket.

Cargo Harness Routing (Uconnect 4 only – Skip if Uconnect 5, 2022+)

Steps 7–16:

• Remove the factory third brake light (retain screws).

• Route the cargo camera RCA harness above the headliner to the driver’s footwell.

• Use zip ties to secure and guide the harness through door weather stripping and down the A-pillar.

• Bring harness into the radio cavity and connect camera to new third brake light.

RCA & Camera Connections

🔸 Uconnect 4 (Step 16):

• Plug cargo camera RCA into C-INTC4T’s camera input.

🔸 Uconnect 5 (Steps 17–18):

• Install C-INTC6T passthrough between the blue radio port and factory plug.

• Plug cargo camera RCA into the RCA input on the C-INTC6T.

• Connect 12V power to cargo camera harness.

• Blue trigger wire on camera harness is unused; zip tie out of the way.

Final Reassembly

Steps 19–21:

• Reconnect all factory plugs into the radio.

• Reinstall radio bezel and trim.

• Secure with T20 screws.

Programming with OBD Genie

Steps 22–23:

• Install the Security Gateway Module Bypass.

• With vehicle in RUN, wait 1 minute, then plug in Genie programmer.

• Wait for solid green light to confirm success (1–3 minutes).

• Remove Genie, allow sleep cycle, then test cargo camera.

❗Troubleshooting Guide

❓ Camera image not appearing

• Ensure RCA is plugged into correct harness:

  • Uconnect 4 → C-INTC4T

  • Uconnect 5 → C-INTC6T

• Confirm 12V power is connected.

• Check Genie successfully programmed the module (green light).

• Perform CAN-bus reset if needed (disconnect battery for 15–20 minutes).

📝 Things to Know

• Not compatible with 5-inch Uconnect 5.0 base radios.

• Compatible with all 8.4" and 12" displays.

• Trucks without 360 Surround View (XAK) will not gain that feature.

• The embedded mirror camera (on new third brake light) is not functional in this application.

• If you have Infotainment's digital mirror kit, select it at purchase for compatibility.
