    • โš ๏ธ However, your roof-mounted antenna must be replaced with our Factory SiriusXM Antenna (sold separately) to receive signal.

  • Rear Backup Camera / 360 Camera:

    • Standard rear camera supported.

    • Also compatible with 360ยฐ camera systems (if equipped).

  • UConnectยฎ Bluetooth Hands-Free Calling:

    • Fully functional through the existing factory mic system.

โš ๏ธ Limitations & Add-ons

  • Sirius Guardianยฎ & 4G LTE Hotspot:

    • These services will not be available after upgrade.

    • They require factory-embedded telematics hardware and subscriptions that are not included or supported.

โš ๏ธ 8. Weak Bluetooth Signal / Call Clarity Issues

If your UAX or UAV system has weak Bluetooth reception, or if:

  • Your phone is struggling to stay connected, and

  • Call audio is poor or one-sided for the person you're calling...

๐Ÿ”ง You likely need to install a Vehicle phone override cable

โœ… Solution: Install a Vehicle phone override cable

  • Locate the green Fakra connector on the rear of the radio.

    • This port supports Bluetooth and WiFi antenna input.

  • Customers using this upgrade may not have a factory Bluetooth antenna โ€” thatโ€™s okay.

  • Instead, install the Vehicle phone override cable to improve performance.

๐Ÿ“Ž Cable Details:

  • Plugs into the green Fakra on the rear of the radio.

  • Must be neutral keyed (typically gray or teal).

  • Designed to resolve:

    • Weak or spotty Bluetooth connectivity

    • Poor or unclear phone call audio

    • Trouble pairing with smartphones

๐Ÿ’ฝ UAX Software Updates

Keeping your Uconnect 4 UAX radio up to date is important for performance, stability, and feature reliability. FCA software updates can be specific to your vehicle's make and model, so carefully follow the guidance below.

โš ๏ธ Software Update Notes

  • These updates are official Uconnect releases and have not been altered.

  • Install at your own risk: If an update fails, a white screen with an ERROR code (e.g., ERROR 20) may appear.

    • This usually means an internal component in the radio failed to update.

  • The radio is designed with a recovery mode. If an update fails, it should automatically roll back to the previous version. This may take 10โ€“30 minutes.

  • If the radio fails to enter or complete recovery mode, the unit may need repair or replacement.

  • โš ๏ธ If the radio stays powered on after a failed update (even with vehicle off), pull the fuse to avoid draining your battery.

๐Ÿ”Œ Fuse Locations (in case of software failure)

RAM 1500 DT

  • Interior Fuse Box behind driver-side kick panel

  • Fuse F44 โ€” 20 AMP Yellow Micro Fuse

RAM HD (2500/3500/4500/etc.)
