  • Re-pair your phone to enable Bluetooth and hands-free functionality.

  • Use the included USB hub and harness (if provided) for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support.

  • 2017 UAQ Models: Hold the top right corner of the screen for 5–10 seconds for a soft reset.

🛠️ 4. Dealer Mode Access

  • Method 1: Press and hold both bottom corners of the touchscreen.

  • Method 2: Press and hold Driver-side Temp Up + Temp Down + Front Defrost for 7–10 seconds.

🚨 5. Troubleshooting Checklist

⚠️1. Screen Does Not Power On

⚠️2. Features Missing After Install

  • Wait 48 cumulative hours (radio must enter deep sleep cycles).

  • Features like heated/ventilated seats, splash screen, XM, themes, and camera may not appear immediately.

⚠️3. No Sound

  • Confirm speaker wiring (via 52-pin) is secure.

  • For vehicles with external amps (Alpine/HK), confirm amp receives power.

  • Perform CAN-bus reset if needed.

⚠️4. CarPlay / Android Auto Not Working

⚠️5. HVAC Controls Missing or Frozen

  • Check for proper seating of HVAC control harness (if using upgraded bezel).

  • Wait up to 48 hours or perform CAN-bus reset.

⚠️6. Backup Camera Not Working

  • Ensure original camera wiring is routed to the correct pins in the 52-pin connector.

  • Wait up to 48 hours if all else checks out.

  • Use an external screen tester to check live feed if unsure.

   JL Wrangler Green Screen Issue:

  • If you experience a green screen or a Mountain Dew–like filter when activating the backup camera, it is most likely due to a digital camera signal from a JL Wrangler being read by a UAQ radio that supports only analog camera input.

  • This occurs when a radio originally from an "I-mount" UAQ (non-JL) is installed into a Wrangler JL, which requires a JL-specific UAQ unit with digital camera support.

  • To resolve this, the radio must be replaced with a JL-compatible UAQ.

⚠️7. Steering Wheel Controls Not Working

  • Confirm CAN wiring in 52-pin is not damaged.

  • Perform CAN-bus reset.

🔄 8. Software & Firmware Updates:

Keeping your UAQ/UAS radio up to date can resolve bugs, compatibility issues, and improve system stability.

📥 Official Software Update Resource:

👉 UAS Software Updates – Infotainment Knowledgebase

  • Ensure the radio is properly installed and functioning.
  • Follow all steps carefully—interrupted updates may cause errors like "Error Code 20."
  • Only use update files specific to your part number or model (e.g., JL-specific vs. non-JL).
💡 Tip: If you're experiencing repeated reboots, connectivity issues, or missing features, checking for the latest firmware may resolve your issue.

⚠️ 9. Screen Not Responding / “Ghost Touch” Issues

If the screen becomes unresponsive or begins navigating on its own ("ghost touching"), this may be due to overtightened screen bracket screws during installation.

  • Loosen the bracket screws slightly — about half of a quarter turn — to relieve screen pressure.

  • Test touch functionality after adjusting to ensure normal operation.

  • Avoid over-tightening during installation to prevent this issue.

📝 Additional Tips

  • 2014 Grand Cherokee Users: Retaining heated/cooled seats requires additional interface.

  • 2013-2014 Ram 1500 & HD: Retaining heated/cooled seats requires additional interface.

  • Uconnect Access → Sirius Guardian: Paid Uconnect Access subscriptions do not carry over to UAQ radios.

  • Rearview Camera / SiriusXM Add-ons: OBD Genie bundles are available for plug & play integration
