For 2020–2023 Jeep Gladiator JT & Wrangler JL

Overview

Upgrade your Jeep Gladiator JT with the latest Uconnect 5 system featuring a 10.1" HD touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, built-in TomTom GPS Navigation, and more — all using factory OEM components with plug-and-play simplicity.

Tools Needed:

• Trim panel removal tool

• Phillips screwdriver

• 7mm socket or driver

• Basic hand tools (no power tools recommended)

What’s Included:

Step 1: Pre-Installation Assembly

1. Attach the Uconnect 5 Module to Its Bracket

• Align the radio module over the supplied bracket using the fixed studs.

• Flex the bracket slightly to seat the module fully.

• Install the provided nuts and hand-tighten them — no need to overtighten.

2. Prepare the Wiring Harness

• Remove any plastic pigtails on unused connectors.

• Connect the GenieX interface module to the harness.

3. Mount the Screen to the Bracket

• Choose your finish (matte or piano black).

• Align the screen with the mounting bracket.

• Secure with 4 Phillips screws — tighten gently with a hand tool.

Step 2: Vehicle Disassembly

1. Remove Knee Bolster

• Pull down on the left-hand knee bolster near the push-start button.

2. Remove Climate Control Panel

• Pull straight back to release clips.

• Unplug push-start and HVAC controls, set aside.

3. Remove Radio Bezel

• Unscrew two 7mm or Phillips screws below the factory screen.

• Gently pull bezel toward you to release clips.

• Set aside (not reused).

4. Remove Factory Radio

• Unscrew and slide out factory radio unit.

• Disconnect all connectors, including lever-style power connector.

Step 3: Install the New System

1. Connect the Main Wiring Harness

• Insert the main plug into the OEM connector.

• Use the lever to lock in place.

• Carefully tuck the harness and GenieX module into the cavity.

2. Connect USB Adapter

• Plug the adapter into the existing USB harness.

3. Install Uconnect 5 Radio Module

• Connect all labeled plugs to the Uconnect 5 module.

• Connect antennas as needed.

• Plug in the screen video feed and power connectors.

• Use provided blue-to-curry adapter if required.

4. Mount the New Radio Module

• Carefully seat the new radio module.

• Reinstall the 4 OEM screws to secure it.

Step 4: Install Touchscreen

• Plug in the angled video connector and power connector.

• Clip the screen into place — it should click in like factory.

• Secure with 2 screws on the bottom.

Step 5: Reassembly

• Reconnect and reinstall the climate control and push-start harnesses.

• Snap the HVAC panel back in.

• Reinstall the lower knee bolster panel.

Step 6: Power Up & Test

• Start the Jeep.

• The system should boot with a Jeep animation.

• Go through the Uconnect 5 setup:

  • Set up driver profiles

  • Connect your phone for wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto

  • Test FM/HD Radio, SiriusXM (subscribe with your radio ID)

  • Confirm backup camera, steering wheel controls, HVAC display, etc.

  • Explore built-in TomTom GPS Navigation
